**A Life of Highs and Lows — But Still Worth Living**

Published on 12 October 2026 at 11:28

Three years ago, anxiety became part of my life. Since then, I have experienced some very dark moments, days when life felt heavier than it should and when finding peace in my own mind wasn't easy.

Along the way, I lost my brother to an overdose and said goodbye to a few good friends. Losing people you care about leaves a hole in your heart that never completely disappears. You learn to carry the pain, even on days when you have to smile and carry on as if everything is fine.

But life isn't only about the moments that break us.

Life also gives us unexpected reasons to keep going. At the age of 53, my wife and I welcomed twin boys into our lives. Two little human beings who remind me that even after heartbreak, life can still bring incredible happiness. They showed me that there can be new beginnings, even when you thought your best days might already be behind you.

I still have my difficult days. I am not going to pretend that anxiety simply disappears or that grief stops hurting. But I have learned that the dark moments are only part of my story, not the whole story.

If you are reading this while going through a difficult time, please don't believe that the way you feel today is how you will feel forever. You don't have to have everything figured out. You don't have to be strong every single day. Sometimes, getting through the day is enough.

Give yourself time. Be kind to yourself. Hold on to the little things, even if they seem insignificant: a conversation with someone who cares, a song that makes you smile, a beautiful sunset, or the laughter of someone you love.

You never know what life still has waiting for you.

I have experienced loss, anxiety and moments I wish I could erase. But I have also experienced love, happiness and the incredible gift of becoming a father again at 53.

My life isn't perfect, and I am still finding my way. But I am here, still moving forward, and still discovering that life can offer beautiful moments even after the hardest chapters.

**If you are struggling today, please hold on. Your story isn't over yet. There may still be a beautiful chapter waiting to be written.**
